I do illustrative custom blackwork tattoos using sculpted linework and textural mark-making, with an emphasis on movement and storytelling.

Please make sure you fill out this form as thoroughly as possible so I can decide whether or not your project is a good fit for me. I do not always get back to everyone, and sometimes responses may be delayed up to a month. Please know that this is not an automated service and takes time and careful planning and consideration for each proposal received! If you do not hear from me, you are welcome to resubmit your proposal later, sometimes my interest and availability changes!

Some considerations for writing a great proposal:

  1. Specificity. When describing your tattoo idea, choose specific rather than generic language to describe its subject matter and placement. (Instead of "cactus," say "saguaro"; instead of "arm," say "right inner forearm"; etc.) Including links to reference images or thumbnail doodles of your vision for your tattoo will also help me to design for you. These can be included after your proposal's acceptance during our email consultation. Alternately, please do not include more information than is necessary. If certain subjects have a specific meaning that you would like the design to speak to, you may include this information. However, if you need to consider adding a trigger warning, please just don’t include the potentially triggering anecdote. As a personal boundary, I will not be reading any emails with superfluous or traumatic personal details.

  2. Originality. The more unusual or unique your subject is, the more interested I may be in bringing your concept to life! I want to design an original custom piece for you that hasn’t been made before. I am open to designing tattoos based on works from art history (past examples include Max Ernst collages, Walton Ford & Leonora Carrington paintings, misc textiles & pottery), but I am not interested in pop reproductions or fan art (such as characters from comics, animation, television and movies). For a list of subject matter I will not tattoo, please read my FAQ.

  3. Budget. I price pieces individually using a flat rate sliding scale. The size, placement, complexity of detail, variety of separate elements, and style of shading all influence the cost of your tattoo. Include your best number estimate- I want to design a piece for you within your ideal budget range! Keep in mind that I charge an additional flat fee of $150 for Freehand tattoos for drawing time.

Please review my sliding scale policy and “How long does a tattoo take?” to determine your approximate range on the scale. Placement on sliding scale will not affect your booking eligibility- I book projects based on my own personal interest and schedule.

  4. Availability. Due to scheduling conflicts, I am currently unable to work Saturdays- I generally work at 1pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. If you are flexible with your availability, we will be able to schedule you faster. If you are interested in booking with me, please make sure you give yourself enough time to save up enough money and take off from work to avoid any last-minute issues. I do larger pieces in multiple sessions, so payment is broken up by session for those projects.

Check out my FAQ for any additional booking details and concerns. Almost every question you might have about my booking process is answered there!
